Joe Biggs, a paramedic in the film and event industries has decided to get fit and healthy again after several years of neglecting exercise and healthy eating. Not one to do things by half, he has signed up for his very first SuperSprint Triathlon and has made the decision to raise money for charity at the same time.

Joe says ‘I feel that The Contented Dementia Trust is a truly deserving cause and I hope to reach my double target of raising £1000.00 and finishing in less than 1 hour. Sadly I’ve seen the effects of dementia on family as well as many others and the help that the Trust provides really changes lives for the better!’

The triathlon is taking place at Dorney Lake, Eton, on the 14th September 2014, where the 2012 Olympic rowing and canoeing took place. The race comprises of a 400m open water swim, 10.6Km cycle and 2.5Km run – an exhausting combination I think you will agree!

Joe is now busy practicing his transitions to shave off the all needed seconds in order to achieve his goal!
